The Founder
Greetings! I’m Kristi Mefford, a Service-Disabled Navy Vet, Licensed Natural Hair Stylist, and the passionate visionary behind the vibrant beauty brand, Queen of Kinks® Natural Hair Essentials. Our journey began with Kinky Rootz, my brick-and-mortar salon just a short ride from downtown Nashville.
Influenced by inspiring African American beauty moguls and fueled by my love for natural beauty, Queen of Kinks® was born in August of 2022.
Our handmade, plant-based, and cruelty-free hair products reflect my core values of sustainability and a celebration of textured hair. With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, I take immense pride in transforming locs, kinks, and curls into beautiful masterpieces. My brand was created to fill a void in the market for individuals with locs and textured hair by offering thoughtful solutions that combat dryness, dandruff, and more, using simple, plant-based ingredients that are both effective and affordable.
